SERENGETINATIONAL PARK & NGORONGOROCONSERVATION AREA

1 Day

Day of the flight: 04:00 to 05:00 am, we will collect you from your lodge or camp, and transfer you by Landrover/Landcruiser to our launch site. This is
effectively a night game drive and you may spot some nocturnal creatures. At the launch site you will meet your pilot, receive a safety briefing and
watch the inflation of your balloon. At dawn we take off (approx. 06.30am), rising as the sun rises and floating in whichever direction the winds take us.
Our pilot can precisely control the altitude of our balloon: sometimes flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great
photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. At other times our pilot may ascend to 1,000 ft or more, to enjoy the wonderful panorama of the
national park below. From time to time the pilot must put more heat into the balloon with the burners, in between these burns, there is silence apart from
the natural sounds below. The flight is for about one hour, depending on conditions, and eventually we must land. We celebrate in the traditional
manner with champagne (well, an excellent sparkling wine) before sitting down to a full English breakfast ( other dietary options are available) prepared
and served to order in the bush in an elegant “Out of Africa” style, even with a loo with a view on site. After breakfast you receive your Serengeti Balloon
Safaris certificate and later meet up with your safari driver (approx. 09.45am) ready to continue your day’s activities. Following your flight we email you
a link to complementary photographs taken on your flight.

Overview

Our seasonality is linked (as
much as possible) to the
wildebeest movements so we
aim to pick up guests from all
over the Serengeti. Some
remote camps may require a
longer 2H+ transfer time.
